Professional Experience
Guelph Black Heritage Society
I have been the Program and Marketing assistant at the GBHS since September 2025. I regularly design promotional materials, manage social media & further promo, and support the community.
Through my work with them I have had the honour of supporting community and cultural projects. These Projects include designing GBHS’s Guelph Library Display on Flora “Blizzard” Francis, presenting at the Guelph Film Fest, promoting Joy in the City Concerts, presenting at GBHS’s Black Heritage Month Flag Raising, and promoting Seniors Social Club & Youth Workshops.
DJ Vibe, DJ Services
I have created promotional content for DJ Vibe events, including concert advertisements for Mr. Vegas & Montell Jordon. I have navigated the Eventbrite organizer space and maintain welcoming & informative spaces as Front-of-House.
I have captured event photography and video. The Events I’ve worked on include Konshens, Mr. Vegas, Feel Soul Good - March 2025, Classic - Sept 2025, Classic - December 2025, Classic - February 2026.
Freedom Marching Project
I had the honour of working with Freedom Marching Project during my Advertising and Marketing Communications Co-op in 2025.
I worked on structuring the promotional campaign for Momma’s Cookout 2025. I designed the graphics and edited promotional videos for social promo.
Education
Advertising and Marketing Communications Courses
My Education in Advertising and Marketing Communications was a two year program that pushed my analytical, creative and organizational abilities.
The Advertising and Marketing Communications Program instructed me on how to use a number of softwares, Including the entire Adobe Suite, Figma, and Buffer.
Human Sexuality
Through my post-secondary education, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of a diverse society. This understanding has shaped my ability to approach human design with empathy and an informed perspective.
My studies have encompassed the nature of human relationships, sexual and romantic attraction, sexual expression, and gender expression.
Canadian Multiculturalism
I have also explored Canada’s multicultural landscape, with a particular focus on the Greater Toronto Area, analyzing the balance between welcoming new immigrants and respecting the perspectives of long-settled Canadians. This background equips me to create impactful works centred on activism and diversity.
Mental Health in Society
Additionally, my academic and in-depth personal experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychotherapy has deepened my understanding of the societal impacts on mental health.
I have studied the causes and behaviours associated with conditions such as Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, and PTSD, further enhancing my ability to approach these topics with sensitivity and insight.
