Personal Story
Family History
My Father’s Immigrated from Guyana and Trinidad and my Mother’s Family is from Newfoundland.
I have a long history of vocal performance, from belting on the gym floor at my first-grade talent show, to being an alto in the Cambridge Girls Choir, to vocal training throughout my time in high school, and singing has always played a foundational role in my perspective.

I am proudly influenced by my lived experience as an Indo-Caribbean, as a queer woman and as an individual with a long history of utilizing therapy. In the position of a second-generation Canadian, I’m able to provide insight from my Trinidadian and Guyanese family. Additionally, I reflect my Canadian upbringing in the 2000s and integrate that nostalgia.
I believe the power of marketing and design should be utilized in a humanistic and empathetic manner. I fully indulge in my lived experience, plus vast cultural knowledge and integrate those aspects into my projects. I intend to create works that speak intimately to wide audiences and grab attention through heartfelt and impactful design.

Throughout my adolescence and into my early adult life, I have had to take on the task of reckoning with the unique perspective I’ve acquired through my lived experiences.
I recognize how factors of my identity, such as my Bisexuality, my Biracial upbringing and my Womanhood, have caused a variation in treatment and opportunity for me.
I also recognize the opportunity, skill and determination that I am privileged to harness.
Life at the Intersection
I intend to use my gifts to raise awareness for social issues that I have experinced first hand and offer empathetic and humane messaging.
I pride myself on navigating the complicated hypocrisies and contradictions that we consist of - able to hold and communicate difficult issues to different audiences.

Embracing the Journey of a Suvivor
Like many other children, I was faced with bigotry and racism throughout my childhood. This gave me first-hand insight into the mental repercussions that can take a toll on students who do not feel they have safety and inclusion in their learning environments. From this experience, I still endure CPTSD & Anxiety
Both are diagnoses that impact a large percentage of individuals. Through my work, I attempt to approach these topics with vulnerability and emotional intellect from a lived experience.
